Today, all over COP21 and along with the Climate Summit for Local Leaders, Michael R. Bloomberg, UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Cities and Climate Change, and EU financial and monetary affairs Commissioner Pierre Moscovici introduced that the Compact of Mayors and the Covenant of Mayors will officially partner to advertise and support voluntary city action to fight climate change.

The partnership between the Compact of Mayors, a world coalition of just about 400 mayors dedicated to cut back native greenhouse gasoline emissions, fortify resilience to climate change and monitor their development transparently, and the Covenant of Mayors, the European Union’s initiative of a number of thousand native governments assuming the duty of tackling climate change of their territories, will open a brand new bankruptcy to display the worldwide affect of native city action.
