In my opinion, Cyberpunk 2077 isn’t somewhat the crisis some have steered. The game is fun. The bugs are fun! The insects that really, really weren’t amusing had been patched. Refunds had been made broadly to be had, and in spite of that refund possibility, the sport sold 13 million copies in just two weeks.
But writer CD Projekt nonetheless has a broken reputation to fix and an investor lawsuit to fight, so I wouldn’t put an excessive amount of inventory in the headline you will have learn nowadays: that we’re all getting free DLC for the sport in early 2021.
It’s imaginable! And it’s utterly what this official website promises. But that promise could also be outdated.
As Engadget points out, the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine presentations that this promise could have been reside on the web the similar day the sport introduced — ahead of the outcry started, and certainly ahead of CD Projekt held an emergency convention name on December 15th to speak about how the corporate would react.
On that decision (PDF transcript), CD Projekt president and co-CEO Adam Kiciński instructed buyers that it was once “too early to pass judgement on” when the corporate may be able to liberate DLC.
Specifically, he was once requested: “How do you are feeling about your skill to liberate a few DLCs subsequent 12 months, and, clearly, multiplayer in 2022?” (CD Projekt had prior to now mentioned that multiplayer would miss 2021.)
The complete resolution: “To be fair, it’s too early to pass judgement on. At the instant please allow us to care for the location, and please allow us to make some extra tests – that’s nonetheless forward folks; we don’t know but, and we’re now centered on bettering Cyberpunk. We’ll talk about this early subsequent 12 months.”
Currently, we’re anticipating two main patches for the sport in January and February respectively, like the corporate promised on December 13th in its apology post:
Beyond that, some free DLC would after all be great. Personally, I simply need NPCs that understand how to pressure.
